There are hundreds of types of rotors. Generally, there is no type mark on the outer surface of the rotor, which is difficult to distinguish with naked eyes. The method for industry personnel to find rotor model is to use caliper to measure several key dimensions, usually from the following seven aspects.

First determine the type of rotor used in power tools. According to whether the electric tools are electric drills or angle polishers, the rotors among them can not be used or substituted;

Measure the total length of rotor. The total length of rotor refers to the total length of the whole rotor shaft;

Measure the bearing distance (commonly known as shaft mouth). Bearing distance refers to the distance between bearings after the bearings at both ends of the rotor are installed in place;

Measure the outer diameter of rotor core. The outer diameter of rotor core refers to the diameter of rotor core;

Measure the diameter of the upper shaft. The diameter of the upper shaft refers to the diameter of the shaft where the bearing is installed at the rotor commutator end;

Measure the diameter of the lower shaft. The diameter of the lower shaft refers to the diameter of the shaft where the bearing is installed at the rotor drive end;

Look at the parameters of the driver. Screw thread refers to the screw thread that can screw the nut. The key refers to the semicircle key that can be installed, and there is an installation position on the shaft. The circlip refers to the part on the shaft where the elastic retaining ring (circlip) is installed. The number of teeth refers to the number of teeth of the driving gear. The tooth direction refers to the direction of the tooth deviation of the driving gear when the rotor commutator end is upward. There are left deviation (reverse teeth), right deviation (spur teeth) and straight teeth.

The common name in the industry is usually used by manufacturers, dealers and repairmen when ordering. It can also be printed on the outer packing carton of the rotor.
